Exercises for Better Post Hip Replacement Recovery



Exercise is an essential part of everyone’s life. A person should perform all post-surgery exercises under the direction of a coach. You should not overdo exercises after hip replacement surgery. Because it may lead you to a serious problem. You must avoid the exercises that are harmful to your muscles and tissues.
There are many exercises, that may give you relief from pain. Moreover, these exercises are valuable for fast recovery after hip replacement.

Exercises after hip replacement surgery:-

Ankle pumps-: You should pull your toes up. Then, you must rotate the ankles in a backward and forward direction. After some time, you should again rotate the ankles clockwise and counterclockwise. This exercise is helpful to prevent blood clots to develop. Moreover, that type of exercise is valuable for blood circulation.

Heel slides-: You should twist your one leg at one time and slide your heel back without lifting it off the bed. Your kneecap should face the roof the whole  time. You must consult your surgeon before performing this exercise. You can also try to pick something for simpler development. This exercise is helpful to reduce the risk of future problems.

Thigh and buttock squeezes-: Without moving your legs, fix the thigh muscles and push the back of your knee down onto the bed. You must  squeeze for 10 seconds. Afterward, you should go back to the normal posture. Then, move up to buttock and squeeze them for 10 seconds.

Leg slides-: While resting, slide your leg gradually out to the side and afterward back. You should keep your knee indicated the roof. You should place a plastic bag under your heel if important to make it slide. You can talk to your surgeon about the advantages of this exercise.

Straight leg raises-: You should raise one leg a couple of inches without bending knee. You should hold this posture for some time. Then, you must gradually go back to the normal posture.
